Thought you ought to know that the update is unable to update Winamp on Windows because
it thinks there is a 1.0.0.1 release. This is not the case. The latest version of Winamp
on Windows is 5.9.2. There is no newer update. Winamp is offering its software for Android
and iPhone. But that doesn't work on Windows. Also, Adobe Acrobat Reader Update will not
install thru Patch My PC. The Adobe Reader update function must be used to successfully
install its updates.

The Home Updater v5 App Library was initially released containing 512 supported apps in late Oct 2024. Over the past few months, the app library has grown by an additional net 20 apps. The associated addition and removal of apps, as well as renaming of apps and changes to their assigned category, are not announced and are likely to go unnoticed. The attached 2-page PDF lists the apps which have been added or removed and summarizes the current distribution of apps by app type (non-portable and portable) and category.

The PDF includes two embedded files which are accessible from the Attachments pane of a PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat Reader, Foxit PDF Reader, or PDF-Xchange Editor: (1) an exported app list in JSON format for the 532 apps in the current library and (2) a corresponding conversion of the JSON app list to an Excel spreadsheet with an added Category column and formatting. Because some simpler PDF viewers do not support file attachments to PDF documents, these two files have also been included in a separate .zip file attachment to this message. The list of supported apps currently provided on the Home Updater product web page (https://patchmypc.com/product/home-updater) does not reflect updates to the app library and should be regenerated similarly to these two files whenever apps are added or deleted or names of apps or vendors change.

I mentioned back in October 2024 that version 5 seemed like it was not DPI-aware.

https://forum.patchmypc.com/index.php/topic,8153.msg19960.html#msg19960

This issue may be another example.

If it worked in version 4, it seems like something that should be fixed, rather than being "voted on".

Hi Team,

My time, timezone, and all other regional settings are correct on the device the publisher is running from. i.e. UTC10+.

However, the sync schedule and reports are all based on UTC0. Had a sync go out that we were not expecting last night and caused a bunch of confusion.

Why is the publisher not honouring the operating systems config?
Can publisher be reconfigured for the correct timezone settings so that the reports and syncs reflect the correct time?

We added this update to our catalog today at 6:02 AM PST. You should receive the update if you run a sync! Thanks for reaching out!

My problem was fixed by uninstalling using Revo paid version (which found lots of leftover registry entries and files), rebooting, then downloading and installing the latest version of Patch My PC Home Updater.

Chrome needs to be updated to Version 137.0.7151.69

Reason?

https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2025-5419

Out of bounds read and write in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 137.0.7151.68 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)

Yeah I see that a few of my pilot users reporting back to Intune that a restart is required. But my CIO has a successful installation. So somewhat stabbing in the dark lol.

For now though I've just set both apps in the conflict list just in case and extended the notification period out a bit.

Yeah, all my autopilot required apps, and any available apps are as a standard set to foreground processing.
Only PMPC published "Updates" I've left as background processing.

I've previously temporarily changed the install cmd in Intune to a one liner to copy the contents to a specific folder but would rather not do that if I can avoid it. Also trying for more automation instead of manual interventions.

I suppose as a workaround I could add a pre/postscript which could dump a copy of the package contents if its run on a specific named device. Hmm I'll give it some thought. Thanks!

Quote from: steadybird on June 02, 2025, 04:52:41 PMThey were kinda rambling as they ran past my door and wasnt able to really confirm which was which.

Ive not been able to get access to their device to take a deeper dive. The CIO is rather assertive and any suggestion they press the wrong button doesn't go well lol.

But I would certainly take a look when I can.

My query was less to do with this one specific incident and more as an overarching thing around how PMPC conflict resolution works with shared prerequisites such as VS C++. Can PMPC update the conflicting processes list for VS C++ when I add new apps to be managed? Or am I needed to know which apps are using it and update the list myself?

We don't deploy edge components via PMPC. Is webview a part of edge or VS C++?

Ooo, C-Level, I should have known lol.

We don't have any 'Dynamic' features to prepopulate the Conflicting process list. Although I haven't really seen a lot of reports of things like Visual C++ or .Net Desktop Runtime causing applications to auto-close when they update. They typically update fine in the background, but usually require Restarts to finish.
