Installations of ExifTool Portable 13.48 are failing

Installations of ExifTool Portable 13.48 get stuck indefinitely with a status of "Calculating" because the download file cannot be found on the target server and Home Updater as currently implemented is apparently unable to detect this type of problem. The attempted update must be manually cancelled.

Log file excerpt:
[2026-02-04 00:34:07]  DEBUG  [Exiftool (x64) Portable]: Started downloading portable app: 'https://exiftool.org/exiftool-13.48_64.zip';

The exiftool.org home page contains the following note:
"(To reduce load on the exiftool.org server, the download links now point to SourceForge)"

The URL should have been: https://sourceforge.net/projects/exiftool/files/exiftool-13.48_64.zip

Note that ExifTool version 13.48 (31-Jan-26) has since been superseded by version 13.49 (03-Feb-26).

Download files for both versions are available on SourceForge.
