installs but claims to need .NET 8 and can't find it

I installed PatchMyPC Home Updater, and it seemed to install OK, but when I run it, it asks for .NET 8. I downloaded it and confirmed it is installed, but PMPC still asks for it. Anyway, that version of .NET is End of Life in about a month, so isn't it about time PMPC HU was updated to the current version?
