Can't disable self-updater...

I'm trying to run v4.2.0.5  Which was the last good version, that included the much needed categories.
Even if i have 'Disable Patch My PC Self-updater' enabled in the Options, it's not respected.  And when run, it pauses, updates to 4.5.0.5  Which isn't what we want.
How can i block it from doing this?  Are their any command-line options?
