I noticed earlier this morning (Wed, 8 Jul 2026) that PMPC HomeUpdater 5.4.5.0 had been announced on MajorGeeks.com and posted for download. However, I did not see this version listed in the PMPC Release Notes nor did I get the update when I ran "Check for Updates" within PMPC. I downloaded the update from MajorGeeks and successfully installed 5.4.5.0.

I found the following description of 5.4.5.0 on the internal beta channel.

5.4.5.0
Enhancements
• Improved UI/UX on Scheduler view.
• Enhanced registry matching logic to support multiple versions of same app

I then checked the download available on  PMPC Home Updater's own public website. It appears that the beta (preview) version has erroneously been released on that website and therefore posted by MajorGeeks on their official mirror site. As mentioned above, 5.4.5.0 is not found when checking for an update within PMPC while running 5.4.4.0 and does not appear in the PMPC release notes.

Also please note the following ---

Attached below is a screenshot of the Patch My PC page on MajorGeeks. The text and screenshots reflect the version 4 of the program. The last of the three download links (labeled "Download (Updater)") is even a download of 4.5.0.9 installer. Since MajorGeeks is a go-to  site for obtaining timely announcements and downloads of software updates, particularly on Windows, please prepare and coordinate the appropriate updates to the Patch My PC material on MajorGeeks.

UPDATE: Release notes for PMPC Home Updater 5.4.5.0 were posted on the PMPC website on 09-July-2026 with the following clarification: "This release is already self-updating for users on the beta channel and will be available for self-update for non-beta users in the coming days."

Like MajorGeeks, 5.4.5.0 was also prematurely released on Softpedia on Wednesday, 08-July-2026. I also noted that the Home Updater download on Softpedia is erroneously classified as TRIAL rather than FREEWARE.
