Title: Some observations with later versions of Patch My PC Home Updater
Post by: deckard on March 13, 2026, 11:03:21 AM
I want to preface this by saying that I use this app daily and am very happy it exists!
That said, I've noticed certain things have changed over the past few updates and have been wondering if they were intentional or not, as I prefer the previous functionality.

1) No longer have the option to keep downloaded software updates.
2) It takes much longer to stop "updating" and go back to the list after an update completes.
Presumably this was done to make sure enough time was given after an update finished and the downloaded app installer was subsequently deleted.
3) If other apps were updated during the time Patch My PC is updating an app, Patch My PC will still show those other apps as requiring an update until another Re-Scan.
Previously, when the active update completed, it seemed to automatically perform another Re-Scan, so any other apps which had been updated during that time would no longer indicate that an update was available.
4) When an app is finished updating, it stays at the top of the list until another Re-Scan. Previously it would go back to being sorted alphabetically.

Currently running v5.4.3.0.

Please let me know if any additional info is needed.

Thank you!
