When can we expect a new update with new  software additions?

Should be soon. We already have 8 or 9 new apps in the beta channel Patch My PC. We are probably going to release this to the production channel around the same time Windows 10 is released the end of this month.

How do I go about seeing  the beta changes or possibly using the beta myself?

In the options select "Enable beta channel" and then restart Patch My PC Updater and that should get you the latest beta.
