Title: Ubisoft Connect shows outdated
Post by: Bregalad on October 09, 2025, 11:34:55 AM
Ubisoft Connect is shown as outdated.

app catalog info.txt

App Name: Ubisoft Connect
Version: 167.1.12915
Status: OutDated

It seems that the version is shown from the uninstall- registry:

Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

DisplayName = Ubisoft Connect
DisplayVersion = 167.1.12915
DisplayIcon = C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\UbisoftConnect.exe
Publisher = Ubisoft
UninstallString = C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uninstall.exe
InstallLocation = C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\
QuietUninstallString = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher/Uninstall.exe" /S
Version = 12915
VersionMajor = 167
VersionMinor = 1
RegKey = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Uplay

The latest update for it in PMPC is v168.0.12921, is it failing to update?

No, it updates itself, and the version shown in the explorer are several:
UbiConnect.exe with 3.0.0.0,
some files with 168.2.0.12932
some files with 168.2.12932.0

I think it does not update the installed version in the registry.
So, there are 2 consequences:
There might be a new version available (for online update), and PMPC is showing the "old" version as outdated;
And if a new version is released by Ubisoft (say: 169.0.13000.0) PMPC would show an outdated version, even if 169.1.13100.0 would be already installed (by online updating itself instead of a clean new install).

if you recognize the installed app from the file version (like the ubisoftgamelauncher.exe 168.2.12932.0), this would be great.

Yes, ubisoft might set the version in the registry after an update, too.

When I downloaded the clean install yesterday, it downloaded 168.0.xxx, and then updated itself to 168.2.12932
