I use Thunderbird 140.1.0 in the "esr" version (Extended Support Release). This version is maintained with security updates, but does not receive new features as often as the "normal" version. This version is therefore recommended for use in companies.
The current PatchMyPC Home Updater (V. 5.2.3.0) criticizes the version status and claims that my actual version 140.1.0 is currently outdated. PMP recommends version 141.0. However, there is currently no version 141.0 esr available.
PathMyPC does not seem to be aware of the difference between the two Thunderbird versions ("esr" and "normal").
Unlike Firefox, Mozilla didn't add anything to distinguish between ESR and Latest! both are identical in registry/display name and files! But they are working to fix this soon in an upcoming release.
