Title: Revo Uninstaller showing as wrong version for upgrade
Post by: Markh on June 11, 2025, 02:52:55 AM
I installed the new Home Updater V 5.2.3.0 on my PC and laptop recently. Normally I never bother with user forums but felt I really had to. I have just logged on and this is my first post.

Both PC & laptop versions inform me that I have Revo Uninstaller showing as needing an upgrade to V 2.5.8 when, in fact, I am using Revo Pro (for some years now) at V 5.4.0

There is no way I will let the program try to cause havoc so I took Revo off the search list. I now have to manually check what version I am on for each app so that it does not get screwed up.

I used the old Patch My PC until it just became (let's be honest here) crap. I spotted a comment online about the new app and decided to give it a go. My confidence level is zeroing fast.

Is there something that can be done here? Should I just move on?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Could you please attach a diagnostics ZIP file to help us review what's happening? Here's how you can get it https://forum.patchmypc.com/index.php/topic,8735.0.html

Revo 2.5.8 is the current "free" version.

Revo Pro is currently at 5.4.0.0

We just ran some test, only the free version of Revo Uninstall should detect. In the screenshot below, you can see that the pro version hasn't been detected.

Thanks for getting back.

I see now from the Revo homepage that the free version is 2.5.8 and that is what the patch program is showing. That makes sense.
On their home program the Pro version is at 5.4.0 so I am up to date.

I will check out the video and get back.

Cheers

I have the zip file but I do not see an icon to attach the file. Drag & drop does not work for me. Can I have a bit of help uploading please?

Thanks

Thanks, but definitely not seeing that.

Is it because I am new here and have limited posts? Anyway, I uploaded the file to my website:

diagnostics ZIP file  (http://beerfromthewood.com/HomeUpdater-20250616_102006.zip)

Hopefully that works.
