Title: Installer reloads after reboot
Post by: RWillerth on April 10, 2025, 12:31:01 PM
I upgraded Patch My PC program using the upgrade installer wizard from the official website. After the program successfully updated the Wizard remained on my screen. After rebooting the upgrade wizard remains. I uninstalled Patch PC and removed all related entries from my registry-- rebooted and the install wizard remains. I cleansed my temp files, and my caches, ran Windows Tweaking Repair 2019 malware repair, which restores Windows 10 settings, checked file and pathway structure-- still no change. I ran out of restore points and the PC Update Installer still loads at every reboot.

I can track the install wizard to the temp files via Task Manager but cannot locate the program generating the install wizard.

Hey there,

Thanks for the detailed info. That definitely sounds frustrating. Could you send over a screenshot of the wizard that keeps appearing, along with what you're seeing in Task Manager when you track it down to the temp files?

That'll help us better understand what's going on and figure out the best next steps.

Looking forward to your reply.

The first screenshot is the install wizard splash screen. The 2nd is the splash screen in Task Manager. The 3rd is the file location in the temp folder.

The quality of this image looks super low, I can't make out the text, could you attach a full resolution image?
