This typically occurs when an application relies on a specific version of the .NET runtime and it either isn't installed or there's a problem with the installation. Can you be more specific?
this is what I get during installation
Hi
@nickwestcott9, Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 8.0 (64-Bit) is one of the software requirements for our Home Updater. Here's the direct download link:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-8.0.13-windows-x64-installer
The link that you have propose in for a X64 system.
Anyway , i have the same issue on Surface 11 ARM whe i tray to install PMPC.
MWDRuntime 8.0.14 is regularment installed over the machine but is the sw don't to see it installed.

Ah, I missed the fact that we are talking about ARM64 systems. My apologies for that. At this point, I'm not sure if Home Updater is supported on the ARM64 platform, but I'll find out.

The latest preview build of the Home Updater (linked above) should now install correctly on Arm64 devices. That said, we still have work to do in the catalog to better support Arm64-specific apps.
Right now, some apps like Chrome may fail during install. The x64 installer detects it's running on an Arm64 device and blocks the Win32 install, recommending Chrome for ARM instead. Some apps will install just fine, but others might run into issues like that.
We're aware and working to improve this experience as we continue expanding support for Arm64 across the catalog.
