Title: Docker for windows 4.33.1 update not working
Post by: phe on August 01, 2024, 11:42:24 PM
Hi
We noticed that after the Docker updated to 4.33.1 version, it does not work anymore! If I have the previous version installed, after update Docker won't start. This happens also if I install Docker from Company portal for the first time.

If I install Docker manually, then it works. Installation also notified that user should log out after installation, not sure has it requested that before.

I have disabled the updates for now, but can you check this out?

Found this topic from github also https://github.com/docker/for-win/issues/14139

Hey Phe,

Thank you for reaching out.

Can you please help me with the details requested:

1. Have you deployed an Intune app package or an update package ?
2. Are there any recent changes made to the package?

Can you please share the below set of logs from one of the affected client machines :

hen troubleshooting Intune application installation errors on a client, we will need multiple client logs. Please include the following logs:

%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-ScriptRunner.log
This may be found in the %ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\ if the Install was initiated by the user from Company Portal.
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-SoftwareDetectionScript.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-SoftwareUpdateDetectionScript.log
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs\AgentExecutor*.log
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs\IntuneManagementExtension*.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\PatchMyPC-UserNotification.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\UISettings\UINotificationSettings.xml
If there are any rolled over logs, please include those, too.

Note: Some Patch My PC log files listed above may be found in %WinDir%\CCM folder if that folder exists.

Can you also run the following script and send me the outputted csv file? This will show us the full list of installed software from the registry.

We deployed the both, the update and Intune app package so if new users will install docker they get the latest version. We have not made any changes to the package.

I check if I can get the logs from a affected computer, since I have a test machine and I have unstalled the docker already. I will try to reproduce the problem. Also me and my colleague tested this and I think the update has not installed to users yet.

One our user noticed this first time yesterday when he tried to install the newest version from company portal and he did not have Docker installed previously. The only way he could get it start was to install docker manually.

I get back to you after I investigate this more
