Title: Support for 'new' Microsoft Teams (work or school)
Post by: JJS on November 11, 2023, 07:38:01 AM
Hi all-

Is it possible to have Patch My PC update the 'new' Microsoft Teams, aka Microsoft Teams (work or school)? e.g. version numbers like 23285.3604.2469.4152

We plan to start moving everyone to the new Teams but not sure how to best approach this, between what settings to use in M365, and what to use in Patch My PC.

Thanks in advance!

You can handle that in Teams Admin, within update Policy and change to New Teams as default.

The platform has introduced enhanced features that improve user experience, from better meeting tools to more integrated workflows. However, adapting to new interfaces can be challenging for some users. Offering training sessions, tutorials, and quick tips can help ease the transition. For those balancing schoolwork, using resources like https://ca.papersowl.com/buy-college-papers can support students in managing their workload, allowing more time to learn and adapt to these new tools.
Thanks in advance!

We are planning to patch all PCs for our team working at https://www.theacademicpapers.co.uk/ (https://www.theacademicpapers.co.uk/)

Hello Jonathan,

The new Teams app is an MSIX installer, which we don't support yet. Our Dev team is working on implementing support for MSIX installers. Once that's done, we'll be able to support the new Teams app too.
As suggested by Hugo in an earlier post, upvoting the idea will keep you notified when the app is shipped. Alternatively, you can create a Win32 app from Intune and configure update policies from admin.teams.microsoft.com to keep it up to date.
