The program updates correctly, however there is no way to start it anymore, until the user navigates to the program file and creates a new shortcut.
This happened on the previous version too, one of my users told me, though I didn't notice it at the time.

It looks like by default Google Earth doesn't create a desktop icon with their installer. The user can go to start and find the shortcut right? They can right click that shortcut and send to desktop that would probably be easier than going to the file itself.
