Unfortunately we can't add this because it doesn't have anything that we can use for detection rules.
What exactly do you need for detection?
A file version or registry value we can key on from the vendor. It seems this vendor doesn't assign a version to their binaries. For example, look at SolsticeClient.exe.

Merged with another customers request for this product. This isn't currently compatible because the vendor doesn't include a file version for their binaires please see messages above for more details.

Will the MSI registry entries work for detection?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{a9d87e0e-125e-4e85-84bc-fcd9a0903290}

This section I meant as detection process for killing the process in order to install, not as the actual successful installation detection method. 8)
This wouldn't work because the MSI guide for the primary key would change for each upgrade.
There's another reg value in a more generic key we could use to find the install dir and check the EXE file version but since they don't define the file version in the EXE it won't work. I would recommend contacting the vendor. I've never seen an EXE where a vendor doesn't define a file version.

I've reached out to Mersive to try leveraging them into addressing this. Thanks, Justin.
We have also submitted a request to Mersive (Request 23668) and have forwarded it to our account rep to see they can action this issue.
Paul
Thanks!
Sorry to do this to you, but we are moving all our application request from our support forum to a new platform
(https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ (https://ideas.patchmypc.com/)).
We need to make this change due to the amount of customer growth and new application request. It's no longer manageable on the support forum platform. We need to have a voting system to help understand what new application request would benefit the most significant number of customers, and that will be one factor we use to prioritize the application request.
If this request is still a product you need, could you please re-submit the application request at
https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ (https://ideas.patchmypc.com/).
- Please only include one product per-each new idea submission as this will help with the up-voting per product.
- If you could also include the information mentioned at https://patchmypc.com/forum/index.php?topic=2790.0 (https://patchmypc.com/forum/index.php?topic=2790.0) in the idea request that would be great and help expedite the process if the product is accepted.
Thanks
Justin
