Couple of things noticed while attempting to add this program to my pc (old win7 box, 32bit). First the fail shown in log snip above- which works fine manually downloading from website. Second, they appear to have removed or dropped support for 32bit Handbrake, although it is not identified in PMPC menu as 64bit only (last 32bit version compatible looks to be v1.0.7, as seen here-

only lists 64bit GUI version for windows and if you go to CLI version it has a link for v1.1.0 CLI but it fails with a 404 (file not found)

1: We just tested HandBrake and it works fine! downloaded and installed fine!
2: They unified the x86 & x64 installers into one installer starting from this release (1.1.0), So it works fine in 32Bit Windows too.
The thing with Windows 7 is that it needs the following:
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) or later
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later
hah, just came back to update this thread. Thank you for verifying Omar, I didn't see any mention on site of the combined installer (also admit not looking too hard). Just now handbrake 1.1.0 is updating 1.0.7 and installing fine- not sure why it would not download at all yesterday, but it's working now. Consider this case closed :)
