Certificate has .cer extension and was added to personal & trusted published, unfortunately i still cannot choose this certificate in pmpc app, can you please advise?

Hi @matty,

It looks like you posted this in our Home Updater board not our paid product. I will move this thread, I'd recommend for this issue to open a case here: https://patchmypc.com/support/

Quote from: Markh on June 11, 2025, 02:52:55 AMI installed the new Home Updater V 5.2.3.0 on my PC and laptop recently. Normally I never bother with user forums but felt I really had to. I have just logged on and this is my first post.

Both PC & laptop versions inform me that I have Revo Uninstaller showing as needing an upgrade to V 2.5.8 when, in fact, I am using Revo Pro (for some years now) at V 5.4.0

There is no way I will let the program try to cause havoc so I took Revo off the search list. I now have to manually check what version I am on for each app so that it does not get screwed up.

I used the old Patch My PC until it just became (let's be honest here) crap. I spotted a comment online about the new app and decided to give it a go. My confidence level is zeroing fast.

Is there something that can be done here? Should I just move on?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Could you please attach a diagnostics ZIP file to help us review what's happening? Here's how you can get it https://forum.patchmypc.com/index.php/topic,8735.0.html

Hi there,
In the past there used to be a separated installer for each language for 4 or 5 apps in the home updater, But with time, they merged the languages into one installer for these apps! So that option is useless now! even in v4!
We actually wanted to remove that option from v4 for years, but we decided to remove in in v5.

By the way, there is a workaround - albeit a cumbersome one
Start the update and wait until the installer pops up (but do not start it!)
If you then look in the directory
C:\ProgramData\PatchMyPC
, you will find the installer there. You can then copy it to another directory.

is there a timetable for when this feature will be available again?

Hi,

the old version hat a setting for some languages, which was very helpful, as some software is installed in the German version here.
Now every software is overwritten by the English version, not really helpful in some cases.

Please bring back that setting.

Regards,
Joe

Home Updater: General Support and Troubleshooting / Black screen
Last post by BigNick70 - June 12, 2025, 09:28:53 AM
:-[ I just dowloaded the latest version and set it going. During the updates of several apps, the background desktop turned black, with just the Patchmypc window showing.
When the procedure finished, I was left with a black screen.
Not even Task Manager would reset things.
A PC restart was neeeded.
Why?
