In Windows 10, both the installed and portable versions of Patch My PC - Home Updater v.5.2.1.0 show, for each of my outdated programmes in turn, "Updating" briefly, then "Downloading" briefly, then Outdated (in red) with the outdated version number of each programme in red and the new (uninstalled) version number in green. No programmes are actually updated. Is there a fix for this? I have tried uninstalling (using Revo) and reinstalling Home Updater. I attach the Home Updater log file. Thank you.

I should have said that the above "Updating", "Downloading" and "Outdated" sequence occurs when I first start Home Updater, and then again after I press "Start Updater" (at the bottom right of the screen).

We will need the PatchMyPCHomeUpdater.log. You can open the folder it's located from the About tab. Please attach that file, and we can try to help out.

I have a very similar problem.
I've been running Patch My PC (Home Updater) for many years without problem.  Suddenly it refuses to start updating.  It opens and scan the apps correctly and identifies 4 that are out of date.  When I press Start Updater, it minimises and a message pops up that says "Patch My PC is performing any necessary updates".  Unfortunately, it isn't.  No downloads or updates are taking place.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, disabling the virus checker and Windows Defender and I've tried running in safe mode but nothing works.  Windows Event Viewer shows nothing.  I'm not sure how to attach a copy of the Patch My PC log.
I'm running Windows 11 Pro 24H2.

My problem was fixed by uninstalling using Revo paid version (which found lots of leftover registry entries and files), rebooting, then downloading and installing the latest version of Patch My PC Home Updater.
